Dude Perfect Co-Founder Coby Goes To Space Courtesy of MoonDAO
Blue Origin has recently announced the New Shepard-22(NS-22) mission with popular internet influencer Coby Cotton setting a record as the first KOL to be sponsored to space by a DAO. At the launch scheduled to be held in Austin Texas, Coby’s presence will shine a spotlight on MoonDAO, an internet-native organisation committed to decentralising access to space.
For many flying to outer space is a much cherished dream but for Coby experiencing zero-gravity and high altitude conditions will soon become a reality.
Sending a KOL to space
In May, MoonDAO announced its plans to give one of the space tickets it purchased from Blue Origin to a popular KOL through a single choice voting on Snapshot, the decentralised voting tool that connects a user to its voting platform.
Four popular influencers including Roon, Kaz Sawyer, Everyday Astronaut and Dude Perfect made it to the list of eligible KOLs and a Youtube livestream was aired where each one of them convinced MoonDAO as to why they should be sponsored to space via the Blue Origin ticket.
How Dude Perfect Clinched The Ticket
Dude Perfect , the Youtube sports and comedy channel with 57 million subscribers owned by five friends, emerged as the winning KOL after it polled an overwhelming majority of the votes on Snapshot.

Dude Perfect co-founder Coby Cotton was selected to represent MoonDAO as a crew member at the launch in Austin Texas and in a Blue Origin press release he was described as one of the co-founders of the most-subscribed sports channel on Youtube.
Coby will be flying to outer space in the company of Sara Sabry and Mário Ferreira, who will hold a record for being the first Egyptian and Portuguese astronauts. Other crew members include Steve Young, Vanessa O’Brien and Clint Kelly.
